First Technical Delegates meeting ahead of Asian Games 2018

The Olympic Council of Asia hosted the 1st Technical delegates meeting for the 18th Asian Summer Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The sport of Kurash was included to the official competition program of these main continental Games back in 2015 by the decision of the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The 18th Asian Games will be held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia and will feature competitions for 42 summer Olympic and non-Olympic sports.

The meeting held in the JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta was organized by the Olympic Council of Asia in cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the Games (INASGOC) and hosted Technical delegates of the above mentioned 42 official sports.

The meeting was chaired by the Director of the Asian Games Department of the Olympic Council of Asia and IKA President Mr. Haider A. Farman.

During the meeting each sport federation received basic technical information on its competitions at the Games.

The Kurash competitions will start on 19 August 2018, next day after the official opening ceremony of the Asian Games, and will consist of 4 competition days finishing on 22 August.

The Kurash competitions for male and female Kurash players will be held at the brand new competition hall called Gelora Bung Karno Sport Complex in Jakarta, which was specially built for the Games. The Kurash competitions will be the first official event held at this new sport venue.
