On November 24, a meeting of the International Kurash Association was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Pune.
According to the agenda, at the meeting Vice-President of IKA, President of the Kurash Confederation of Asia and Oceania Komil Ruziev reported on the works done for the current year:
During 2022, Kurash Confederation of Asia and Oceania has implemented a number of necessary measures to develop kurash on our continent, increasing the number and quality of competitions.
On March 17-21, 2022, the Asian Senior Kurash Championship and the Congress of the Kurash Confederation of Asia and Oceania were held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
About 300 representatives from 24 countries of the continent took part in these events. 211 of them are athletes.
However, we had to postpone many events and competitions due to the pandemic.
This year, the Asian Senior Kurash Championship was held at a high level in Chonburi, Thailand.
About 150 athletes from 14 countries took part in it.
Direct support of the International Kurash Association and the Government of Uzbekistan is necessary in organizing and holding such events at a high level.
During these two championships, 400 units of yaktaks were distributed among all participants and national federations free of charge.
The Kurash Confederation of Asia and Oceania also plans to hold prestigious kurash championships, seminars and international tournaments in 2023.
One of our more important plans is the development of kurash also in Oceania continent, the establishment of the activities of national federations. We have already started working on it now. It is expected that we will achieve a practical results of these works next year.
At the moment, a request has been sent to the national federations that are members of the Confederation to prepare a calendar plan for the next year. By the end of the this year, a new calendar plan of events of the Kurash Confederation of Asia and Oceania will be announced.
