My name is Koroush and I am married with 2 Kids leaving in Bojnord . North East of Iran the Motherland of Iran Kurash.

PLEASE TELL US BRIEFLY ABOUT YOUR SPORT ACTIVITIES IN SPORT ?

Nearly 32 Years ago I started the sport with judo and I became Iran Junior Champion / Iran university champion then started also wrestling but very soon enetered in the field of coaching . After 10 years of Coaching decided to eneter the Refereeing field and became International Judo referee In 2002 joined Kurash and competed as player in Pouria Vali Cup and after that became referee now I hold 3 star referee in Kurash and I am member of the IKA referee Commision.

WHERE ARE YOU BAISED AT ?

We are baised in Bojnoured and from here we gave many champions around the world from Nort Khorasan in Kurash / chokeh / Judo and wrestling

HOW IS THE KURASH OPERATION SYSTEM IN YOUR COUNTRY? AS FAR AS I KNOW KURASH IS NOT FEDERATION. HOW DO YOU OPERATE ALONE OR WITH OTHER SPORTS?

At the begining ( 2002-2019 ) Kurash started as association under Iran Judo Federation at that time there were 2 Associations there Kurash and jujitsu . In 2019 Kurash started activities under Iran Wushu Federation.

WHO IS NOW IN CHARGE OF KURASH AFFAIRS NOW IN YOUR COUNTRY?

Currently Iran Kurash federation President is Mr.Nassiri and I am the General Secretary . Above all Iran Kurash Association is Recognised by IRI Sport Ministry and IRI NOC.

WHAT ACTIVITIES HAVE YOU HAD IN 2019 -2020?

In 2019 we held the first Coaching seminar for Ladies wit expert from abroad , also attended World Championships in Korea and Full Team to Uzbekistan Prize money award. 2020 we had a busy calander but due to Corona we had to stop How ever we are building an International Kurash Training Camp in Bojnord , which we hope it will become one of the Official places for World training for Kurash , we also are making new refereeing Films and helping withSyllabus.

MR.KOROUSH WHERE WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT REFEREEING THAT YOU DID ? WHY WAS IT DIFFICULT ?

The Most difficult refereeing that I did was the Finals in Termez between Abdullah Tangeriev( Kurash Legend ) from Uzbekistan and his young apponent from kazakestan. Where a technique was executed the public believed it was for the Uzbek , but it was for the Kazak and referees aproved my decission even though I did not have a good feeling but I awarded to Kazak and he won, and as I believe it was the last time that Mr.Tangeriev competed in Kurash.

PLEASE TELL ME THE LAST RESULTS YOUR COUNTRY OBTAINED DURING COMTINENTAL OR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS?

Iran Kurash Team competed in 2019 world Championships / world martial arts masterships with 4 players and got 4 silver medals which was good taking into account that we were being moved from Judo to Wushu , we hope we can perform better .

ARE YOU MORE INTERESTED IN COACHING , REFEREEING OR MANAGEMENT?

10 years as coach in the youth and juniors with many champions, but I now prefer to referee in Kurash as I enjoy it very much and i feel its my speciality.

WHAT IS YOU VISION FOR KURASH IN YOUR COUNTRY?

Now we can say in the Men we are the 2nd team in the world and we must at first try to keep it and them try to go for the top. However we are making plans for the ladies too with a lot of budjet being injected in the female Kurash players.

FINALLY HOW IS CORONA AFFECTING KURASH NOW IN YOUR COUNTRY?

Now its over 2 months that government has closed all clubs and training camps , our national team players are training at home trying to keep physical fitness level and I hope that within the next few months vacination can come and we can start our plans as before.
