With the full support of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honorary President of the International Kurash Association Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it has reached a new level. According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 2, 2017, September 6 has been designated as Kurash Sports Day.

The first major phase of the IKA e Kurash project was recently completed. In total, 56 sets of technical actions for 7 Kurash techniques were filmed and posted on Youtube.

The meeting focused on the matters related to further dynamic promotion of Kurash in Uzbekistan and the world.

The members of the Directing Committee decided to create a new post of vice-president of the IKA to interact with the motherland of Kurash - Uzbekistan. IKA President Haider Farman proposed to appoint Abdujabbor Abduvokhidov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to this newly created position. Directing Committee members unanimously supported this proposal.

Kurash is more than three thousand years old. Kurash, like humanity itself, has survived numerous wars, epidemics, floods and earthquakes. Kurash cannot be defeated by the current pandemic as well.

The new dates of the OCA’s 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will be from 10th to 20th of March 2022.

As you all know, the reason for the pandemic was that many kurash competitions and events were not held on the continents. However, we have high hopes for the coming new 2021. We plan to hold all the tournaments and championships that were not held last year this year.

Komil Ruziev was born on October 4, 1970 in Karakul district of Bukhara region. He graduated from Tashkent State Law University. He is a lawyer by profession. For many years he held various positions in the law enforcement system, the International Kurash Association, entrepreneurship and as a Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. On January 4, 2017, he was elected as a President of the Kurash Confederation of Asia-Oceania.
