In Tajik, the word Khush omaded means welcome. This year, the words «Welcome Kurash» will be written on the symbols of the XI Asian Senior Kurash Championship.
Indeed, in the history of international development of the sport of Kurash, Tajikistan has never hosted the Asian or World Kurash Championships.
This prestigious kurash championship is being organized in Tajikistan for the first time.
The capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, will announce the names of the new champions of the continent in kurash on March 17-21.
Located at an altitude of 823 meters above sea level, the city is distinguished by its beautiful foothills, historical monuments and, of course, hospitality.
The continental championship, organized by the Kurash Confederation Asia-Oceania, the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan, the Dushanbe city administration and the Tajikistan Kurash Federation, will also serve as a preparation for the Asian Games in Hangzhou in September.
The next executive committee meeting and congress of the Kurash Confederation Asia-Oceania will be held as part of the championship.
Extensive measures are being taken by the organizers to organize the Great Kurash Festival at a high level, in accordance with the requirements of safety, sanitation and pandemic.
The competitions will be held on March 19-20 at the Dushanbe Universal Sports Complex. The complex will be commissioned in 2020 and will be the largest sports complex in the country with a capacity of 3,000 seats.
It is also planned that the International Kurash Association will hold international refereeing exams for 1-2 stars as part of the championship.
