Uzbek Kurash, now being very popular, has a deep root. According to A.Askarov’s investigation. Uzbek Kurash is about 2.5-3 thousand years old. The thing which were found in Surkhan, Zarafshon and Fargana vallies prove it too. Now 6 finds show that but Kurash is very old.

The wall picture, where two wrestlers were wrestling, which was found in Panjikent, is considered a very old monument. And such finds were found in Old Bactriya and there also two wrestlers were wrestling. These finds belong to bronze time. According to this finds Kurash is about 3,5 thousand years old.

According to the doctor of philology Komil Imomov’s investigation in old stories also show wrestling. And also this proves that Kurash is more than 5 thousand years old. Our national sport shows that Kurash has many ages history. The wrestlers physical ability, spirit, wrestling, their altitude to their partners play the great idea as a prove we may mark the great poet and wrestler Pakhlovon Makhmud.
