Asian Kurash players will compete for the continental championship in Pune, India

According to the schedule of the Asia-Oceania Kurash Confederation (KCAO), the X Asian Championship will be held on March 22-25 this year.

Pune, Republic of India, will host the anniversary continental championships.

Competitions will be held in 7 weight categories among men whereas it is 8 weight categories among women.

Within the framework of the championship program, a meeting of the Directing Committee of KCAO Congress and II Ordinary Congress of KCAO will also be organized.

The agenda of II Ordinary Congress of KCAO includes demonstrations of reports by Vice Presidents and Committees' leaders, the acceptance of new federations into KCAO, the discussion of proposals for further development of Kurash and other issues.

During the competitions, it is also planned to hold a special training seminar for referees who are going to be in charge of judging during Summer Olympic Games in Indonesia. Moreover, the awarding ceremony for “The Bests of 2017” in various nominations will also be held.

According to the Indian Kurash Federation, all organizational measures are underway to celebrate this prestigious event.

The Asian Championships was hosted by the cities of Tashkent, Shahrisabz (Uzbekistan), Delhi, Kerala (India), Tehran, Mashhad (Iran), Kabul (Afghanistan), Ulan Bator (Mongolia), Beirut (Lebanon) before.

It should be emphasized that the Kurash promotes the victory in a honest way. There are historical data on the history of our national sport back in 3000-3500 years.

The Kurash Confederation Asia-Oceania has been admitted as an only Confederation by International Kurash Association during the Congress of the Kurash Confederation of Asia- Oceania on January 4, 2017.

During the General Assembly of Olympic Council of Asia which was held at 20th of September 2017, sport of Kurash was officially included in the Summer Asian Games in Indonesia, 2018.
