Asian championship finishes in India

The VIII Asian senior championship was successfully concluded in India on December 11, 2012. The championships in the southwest Indian town of Kochi, attracted male and female players from around Asia who competed for the medals and the title of the Asian champion.

The championship was attended by the President of the IKA Mr. Yusupov and the Chairman of the IKA and the President of the Kurash Confederation of Asia Mr. Tytler. Mr. Yusupov praised the Indian federation and the KCA for the excellent organization and smooth running of the championships. This event was also attended by the inspection delegation from the 2014 Asian Games Organizing Committee from Incheon, Korea consisting of seven members and delegates who studied the process of organizing and holding major Kurash events.

On December 11, which was the second and final day of championship, athletes competed in three male and two female weight categories.
