The President of Kurash Confederation for Asia and Oceania, K. Ruziev arrived India with an official visit on July 28 for a three day trip.
Mr. Jagdish Tatler, President of Kurash Federation of India has welcomed Mr. Ruziev and expressed his deep interest for mutual cooperation. During the visit Mr. Ruziev had a chance to look closer into activities carried by Indian Kurash Federation. Campings carried by Federation should boost cooperation among organisations in region.
Mr. Ruziev became the President of the Confederation not so long time ago. July visit was his second official trip to India followed by April trip, which represents growing importance of the country in international Kurash arena.
Nowadays Kurash is widely spread in India and has become one of the popular in the whole region as well. Kurash Federation branches have been opened in all the states of the country. Kurash championships are being regularly organised in local regions.
From early foundation International Kurash tournaments organised in India have distinguished themselves with high level preparations, which has become a good tradition.
Kurash with the support of Indian government was integrated to the Program of All-Indian School Games in 2015. The attention from the government was one of the main reasons why interest for Kurash games have increased.
According to State centre for Statistics, All-Indian School Games cover more than 2 million schools.
Indian Kurash Federation informed that by 2020, almost all schools of India will cover kurash games in study programme. As of today, more than half of the planned steps have been performed.
Impressive results delivered by Indian Kurash Federation was highly noted during the July visit. Mr. Ruziev also had an opportunity to enjoy the Kurash performances of Indian athletes who are preparing to represent their country in coming international championships.
