Indeed, in recent years, many events have been taking place that will remain in the history of Kurash. Their number and weight is increasing.
For the first time, we reported that the championship will be held in the city of Kajang, Malaysia, with the participation of Kurash Federations of Southeast Asian countries.
The championship, which was organized by the initiative of the Southeast Asian Kurash Federation and the Malaysian Kurash Association, was full of historical events.
First, a seminar was organized for Kurash coaches and referees within the championship.
The seminars were led by the experienced referees of IKA under the leadership of the Chairman of the Refereeing Committee of Asian Kurash Confederation, President of KUSEA Pulsak Satjathamnukul.
13 referees and 11 coaches from Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam participated in the seminars.
Championship matches started on July 20. A Special Kurash Pavilion was established at the prestigious Metro Point Shopping Complex in Kajang.
Not only fans of Kurash, but also tourists visiting the shopping complex had the opportunity to participate in it.
For information, the Metro Point shopping complex is one of the largest chains in the country, capable of serving 600,000 customers at a time. The number of visitors per day is about 100,000.
On the first day of the competition, competitions were held among seniors, and on the following days, competitions were held amongst cadets and juniors.
The most important thing is that the competitions between young Kurash athletes aged 7-8, 9-10 years caused a lot of interest.
It should be noted that International competitions of this age are being held for the first time in the history of Kurash.
About 200 talented Kurash athletes competed on Gilam to win the 1st Southeast Asia Kurash Championship with 6 countries participating.
In the end, the most talented ones won medals and prizes.
