On 11–15 June 2026, the 15th Asian Senior Kurash Championship will take place in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan.

This prestigious continental competition is being organised in cooperation with the International Kurash Association, the Kurash Confederation of Asia, and the Tajikistan Kurash Federation. The championship serves to determine the strongest athletes in Asia, award the IKA ranking points, and also holds significance as an important qualification and preparation stage ahead of major international competitions.

The bouts will be held at the “Dushanbe Tennis Palace and Water Sport Complex”.

Athletes aged 17 and above are eligible to participate in the championship. Each country may enter one athlete in each weight category. All participants must be citizens of their respective countries. Additionally, participation of the Refugee Team is permitted with the approval of the IKA.

In accordance with tradition, within the framework of the championship, the IKA International Referees’ Seminar, 1–2 star refereeing examinations, as well as the Kurash Confederation Congress and Directing Committee meeting of the Kurash Confederation of Asia are planned to be held.

Registration of participants will be carried out through the official electronic system of the IKA (www.registration.kurash.org). The deadline for submission of applications is 4 June 2026. Requests regarding visa matters must be submitted by 1 June.

The Organising Committee will cover accommodation and meals for two delegates from each country. In addition, local transport services will be provided.

For information, the city of Dushanbe also hosted the Asian Senior Kurash Championship in 2022. As that competition was conducted at a high organisational level, it was recognised by the International Kurash Association as the “Best Competition of the Year”.
